Endlich ist es also auch auf dem deutschen Markt erhältlich, das zweite Masters Of Reality - Album. Line-Up-Wechsel und die Frage, warum es so lange mit dieser Veröffentlichung gedauert hat, sollte man besser ausführlich in einem Interview abklären und an dieser Stelle lediglich über die Musik reden. SUNRISE ON THE SUFFERBUS müßte nämlich im Grunde DAS Album dieses Sommers werden. Im Zuge der Neo-Hippie-Welle und so. Allein die Tatsache, daß Ex-Cream-Drummer Ginger Baker auf seine alten Tage noch einmal die Stöcke in die Hand genommen hat, dürfte Bände sprechen über diese Scheibe, die locker in den Siebzigern hätte entstanden sein können. Der Opener 'She Got Me' mag da noch als ein typischer Blues Rock-Song durchgehen, doch spätestens bei der zweiten Nummer, 'J.B. Witchdance' wird klar, daß der alte Baker diesem Album seinen ganz besonderen Stempel aufgedrückt hat. Psychedelisch, aber nicht bombastisch, dafür sehr konkret und emotional. Ausgereift, aber nicht langweilig. Einfach genial!
