Creepjoint “Kill the Head” - Review
Review vom Torpedo Magazine - Creepjoint Kill The Head
(4 Stars form 5!)
Creepjoint excels with a druggie’s sense of repetition & noise, and a marked sense of nihilism & sarcasm that only can come after a decade or two of chemical sessions. Lead warbler & guitar headmeister Tim Harrington (ex-Masters Of Reality, etc) conducts drone pulses out of his band while grinding out some great post-grungey sludge that falls between Kill Hannah & Kyuss. The acidic buzz-rock jihad they create on most of the 9 songs is broken up by the acoustic surreality of ”Pieces Of Tommy” (which features a whistle piped chorus that will seriously disturb old women) and the da-da dancey ”Billy Goat” where Harrington chants ”Billy Goat, You’re Really Old” repeatedly… fucking odd. One minor recommendation… Next time guys, don’t be afraid to bring out your vocals from the depths of the rock soup.
